Talitha Cumi Empowerment Foundation is a faith-driven, women-focused organization dedicated to healing and restoring survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) in Nigeria. We provide life-changing services including safe housing, trauma-informed counseling, skills training, and spiritual care. Our approach is holistic; recognizing that survivors need emotional, spiritual, economic, and communal support to rebuild their lives.
Rooted in Christian compassion and global best practices, we align with the WHO’s RESPECT Women framework and uphold the dignity of every woman and girl. We are a movement. A safe haven. We provide a continuum of care—from immediate crisis intervention to long-term healing and empowerment. Survivors gain access to trauma-informed counseling, vocational skills training, peer mentorship, and temporary safe housing. Our holistic approach ensures that each woman is not only safe but also equipped to live independently and confidently.
Sustainability is at the heart of our model. By embedding services into local communities, training survivors as peer leaders, and building strong partnerships across sectors, we’re creating a support system that can endure beyond project timelines and funding cycles.
In Nigeria, 31% of women aged 15–49 have experienced physical violence, and 9% have suffered sexual violence, mostly at the hands of intimate partners. Cultural stigma, lack of shelter, legal protection, or financial independence often traps women in cycles of abuse.

We’re building a national support system for survivors by uniting service providers across Nigeria. Through annual convenings, a digital referral system, and a nationwide asset map, we’re strengthening interagency collaboration and improving access to trauma-informed care.
Our campaigns spark conversation and shift attitudes. We engage communities through outreach events, social media, and workshops—empowering girls, boys, and healthcare workers to challenge stigma, understand IPV, and foster safer environments.
We provide emergency shelter and wraparound care for women escaping violence. Survivors receive counseling, legal aid, vocational support, and assistance transitioning into permanent housing.
